Gear Review: Lifefactory Classic Cap Glass Bottle

Lifefactory Glass Water Bottle

We have all heard about the problem with some plastic bottles having BPA in them. So to combat this, there have been several companies that have come out with glass bottles. Lifefactory is just one of these companies. But there are some unique things that Lifefactory has done with their bottles.

One of the first things that I noticed about the bottles was the colors. Each bottle comes with a silicone sleeve to add both looks and help protect the bottle from breaking. I have had my bottle for over two months and it hasn't broke yet. But I don't believe that it is indestructible. I would not suggest trying to drop it onto cement to see if it will hold up though.

Another nice feature of this bottle is the big opening. It has a big enough opening to be able to easily add ice to the bottle. That is one of my biggest complaints about a lot of water bottle. I don't know about you, but I like cold water, especially when at the office. Also it is slim enough to fit in my cup holders in my car. The cap of this bottle has a big loop on it which is easy to clip on a carabiner or just to carry the bottle by.

The two downsides that I came across were weight and screwing on the lid. First this is what I would call a lifestyle water bottle. This is great for the office, around town or anywhere else where weight would not be an issue. It doesn't weigh a ton but other plastic bottles are lighter. The other thing was that almost every time that I screw on the lid, I straight off cross threading the cap, then have to unscrew and try again. This is not that big of deal as it is quick to readjust.

The Lifefactory Classic Cap Glass bottle is a great option for those city dwellers by day. When closed the lid doesn't leak even if left on its side for hours. If you have been thinking of switching from plastic to glass, you have to check out the Lifefactory Bottles. They also have a new Flip Cap lid that will make it easier to drink from and eliminate the need to keep screwing and unscrewing the lid. I am hoping to get the chance to review that bottle as well and when I do I will post it and let you know what I think.
